The Epic Battle for (Medical) Freedom
I sent an email to nearly every believer I knew on March 17, 2020—the day after Donald Trump “locked down” the nation.
It read as follows…
To all who are believers in Christ,
As I have begun to contemplate the America we woke up to yesterday morning, I am overcome with grief that whatever we once were, whatever beacon of liberty and freedom we once represented, whatever national identity we once had, it is no more.
We have all succumbed to the idea that from the State and not God are our rights derived and the State shall henceforth be our master, owner, and slavedriver.
The precedent is now set that we will willingly and without pause or question, allow the most basic of our rights to be stripped completely because of a virus that is at best similar to a common cold and at worst a bad flu.
From this point in history forward, there will always be another virus-a flu strain more virulent than the last, the "new" resurgence of an "old" childhood disease--all countless opportunities for our continued oppression. And the State will line them up one after another--diseases disguised as excuses to control us...our movement...our economy, our personal finances, our right to assemble, our voices...our individual and collective freedom.
When courage finds a voice, we will be shouted down, "This is for the greater good! This is what it looks like to love your neighbor! This is what it looks like to protect the most vulnerable!"
And Truth and freedom will continually be sacrificed on the altar of fear.
And those who will not worship there will be persecuted.
We will voluntarily forget that the vulnerable have always been with us and always will be- and the only thing that has changed since the beginning of time is the narrative-we now welcome the god State narrator to continuously feed our endless appetite for fear.
We are no longer a people of courage or faith. What is more shocking than that freedom loving Americans exchanged their liberties for a false sense of control is that we quit bowing to worship the One True God and now rush to bow down to the idol of Fear.
And we have so embraced the Communist ideology of the "greater good mentality", we are blind to the shackles that come with it--namely the loss of every freedom that our forefathers fought and bled for.
At this moment, 88 people have lost their lives to a virus while 330 million have lost their freedom. It is difficult to sort through which is the greater tragedy.
Whatever City on a Hill we once were, we are no longer.
What is more disheartening than the masses who long for government to be their savior is the church who was first to acquiesce.
With no fight whatsoever, we willingly volunteered to stop assembling...indefinitely.
And so the church has signed its own death warrant.
In all my life, I have never been more at a loss to comprehend the "reality" all around me. And it is more clear than it has ever been that this world is not my home and this nation not my country.
I have no desire to participate in a collective conscience except with the true people of God.
Wurmbrand said there were two kinds of people...those who believe and those who just as sincerely believe that they believe.
Let us pray that God will give us courage to be counted among those who truly believe...and let us be granted the courage to face the consequences that will include the death of our comfort.

More than four years later (2024), Grassroots North Carolinians across the state championed and passed (Medical) Freedom Resolutions in counties from the mountains to the sea and in more than half of our fourteen districts.
In nearly every county and district, the resolutions were adopted unanimously or with very little opposition.
For the first time ever, the choir of voices who speak for the “Covid” dead, wounded, and crushed had cause to believe that the sound of Freedom would rise from the ashes, even penetrating the halls of the State Convention and the State Legislature as the resolutions were successfully adopted one after another after another.
Instead, we received word last night that the NCGOP State Resolutions Committee took the more than 13 Grassroots (Medical) Freedom Resolutions adopted and submitted to the State Committee for reconciliation and presentation at the State Convention—and gutted them.
Even worse, some of the content was intentionally inverted to AFFIRM the rights of “government” to trample the inalienable rights of free men without the consent of the governed—as long as there is a good excuse (emergency) to do so.
If you have asked yourself over the course of the last four years how it was possible that fundamental freedoms were crushed, tyrannical mandates were enforced, police forces were weaponized, and the Constitution was suspended all the while a Republican majority and now supermajority led the North Carolina General Assembly, the behavior of the NCGOP State Resolutions Committee is the peek behind the curtain.
Republican Party leadership is controlled opposition who seeks to rule rather than represent (and in collusion with North Carolina Democrats) has worked to crush the liberty and resolve of We the People.
The principles of freedom, founding documents, political discourse, the blessings of liberty, and the Truth are nothing more than carnage on the battlefield of “Covid”.

The resolve of We the People in reclaiming our party and restraining our government to exist and operate only by the consent of the governed under the restraint of the Constitution will be tested at the Republican State Convention next month.

Below are my rebuttals to the “three” Resolutions that were gutted, dissected, and “reconciled” by the NC GOP Resolutions Committee. My rebuttals are in bold italics.

North Carolina Republican Party Resolution on Medical Freedom (Resolution 1)
WHEREAS, our North Carolina Republican party platform promotes limited government and protects individual freedoms by stating, in part, regarding individual rights, "We support laws that require written, notarized consent for all medical treatments such as but not limited to vaccinations, immunizations...". Additionally, concerning our sovereignty, our platform states, "We oppose attempts by foreign governments and international organizations to infringe on our sovereignty."

This makes it sound like the champions of the medical freedom resolutions support laws that require medical treatments as long as there is informed consent. All language regarding the Covid debacle and the LACK of informed consent by government entities around forced masking, social distancing, shutdowns, lockdowns, essential and non-essential workers, and vaccinations was removed.
WHEREAS, in March 2020, the federal government told us, the people of North Carolina, that the COVID-19 virus presented a grave danger to ourselves, our families, and our communities. The government then commanded us to wear masks, accept experimental injections, and socially distance.
Again, all language specific to the handling of the Covid debacle by the state of North Carolina including mention of Executive Orders by Governor Cooper and the NCGA Republican Majority’s passage of multiple Covid overreach laws including Testing, Tracking, Tracing, Isolation and Quarantine by Class or Category, and suspension of the anti-mask law so that Cooper’s mask orders would be “legal” was stripped by the state committee. Instead, all blame for tyranny by commission was shifted to the “federal government.”
WHEREAS, unlike other state legislatures and the U.S. Congress, members of the NCGA failed to convene hearings to investigate alternative therapeutic protocols—including those based on medications such as ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine—which may have reduced fear, physical suffering, and death.
The state committee did allow this more palatable error of “omission” to be included. However, they failed to mention that NC government entities made these therapeutics unavailable and went after the licenses of physicians who prescribed them. Further, they participated in the censorship of these therapeutics which was a required part of the scheme to promote untested gene therapies renamed “vaccines” as the ONLY way they could have received “Emergency Use Authorization” licensure was for alternative therapeutics to be UNAVAILABLE which was made possible through censorship and the failure of our elected officials to courageously offer the counter-narrative…TRUTH.
WHEREAS, treatments and COVID-19 protocols by the Centers for Disease Control and National Institutes of Health sometimes contain erroneous, ineffective guidance; therefore, be it
The NCDHHS adopted these erroneous, ineffective, and sometimes genocidal guidelines. Again, the State Committee stripped the resolution of language seeking to hold our LOCAL government agencies accountable, using the federal government as the scapegoat. Blame shifting to the federal government was NEVER the intention of any of the resolutions passed by the counties and districts who brought these resolutions seeking accountability from the STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA.
RESOLVED, that the North Carolina Republican party calls upon the state to prohibit the sale and distribution of mRNA or gene-altering injections until a forensic analysis determines if the ingredients are dangerous to recipients. The Party also calls upon the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (N.C. DHHS) and the medical community to disclose and discuss any therapeutic technology available and provide patients with "Informed Consent." The Party also calls upon the North Carolina DHHS and all medical and research communities to prioritize the health and well-being of all North Carolinians; be it further
The word “IF” in the first sentence completely nullifies the objective of every resolution that was written and submitted by the counties and districts. The mRNA gene therapies disguised as “vaccines” have been PROVEN TO BE DANGEROUS TO RECIPIENTS and this evidence was offered by multiple doctors and subject matter experts in counties and districts across the state. The State Resolutions Committee simply rejects the truth of what We the People know and is acting as controlled opposition in rewriting the language of the resolutions and gutting them of the scientific evidence presented.
RESOLVED, that the North Carolina Republican Party rejects conceding any authority to unaccountable and unelected agencies, such as the World Health Organization, as a threat to the state and national sovereignty and personal liberty.
To resolve that the NCGOP seeks to reject ANY authority exerted by UNELECTED agencies that threaten national sovereignty and personal liberty is only a fraction of the accountability that We the People sought through the passage of the medical freedom resolutions.
The intent of the resolutions was to resolve that the NCGOP seeks to reject ANY authority exerted by ELECTED and UNELECTED officials in our OWN GOVERNMENT AND IN PRIVATE SECTOR who participated in violating the inalienable rights of We the People during lockdowns, social distancing orders, mask mandates, vaccinate or terminate policies, vaccinate to educate policies, testing, tracking, tracing, Isolation and Quarantine by class or category, church shut downs, forced participation in abortion via aborted fetal cell line experimental vaccine mandates, essential and non-essential workers apartheid, and suspension of Constitutional rights for YEARS.
The intent of the resolutions was to hold our elected leaders accountable to repeal Covid Overreach laws and pass Comprehensive Medical Freedom legislation protecting We the People from this EVER HAPPENING AGAIN.
Instead, the State Resolutions Committee dissected the resolutions, inserted manipulations, omissions, half truths, misinformation, and/or fatal flaws.

North Carolina Republican Party Resolution on Emergency Powers (Resolution 2)
WHEREAS, our North Carolina Republican party platform promotes limited government and protects individual freedoms.
WHEREAS, our Federal and State constitutions establish three separate and distinct branches of government: The Legislature to create laws, the Court to interpret laws, and the Executive Branch to carry out the laws.
This statement was no where in any resolution submitted to my knowledge and is insulting to anyone who passed elementary school civics.
WHEREAS, we recognize the Executive Branch has the right and responsibility in times of extreme need to declare states of emergencies without the consent of the legislature or courts, and to institute in those times of emergencies policies that may or may not restrict individual freedoms in order to address the threat to the state or people.
This statement was no where in any resolution submitted and was clearly included to AFFIRM the right of the Executive Branch to suspend our Constitutional rights without consensus of the legislature or courts OR BY THE CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED. No where in our founding documents are there “emergencies” enumerated that MAY or MAY NOT restrict individual freedoms.
The Constitution itself was written during a SMALL POX PANDEMIC with an infection mortality rate of up to 30%. This statement affirming the authority of the Executive Branch’s “right and responsibility” to strip our rights during an emergency is completely antithetical to the spirit and the language of 100% of all resolutions submitted and is, in fact, the very OPPOSITE of the remedy We the People are seeking in asserting that CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS CAN NEVER BE SUSPENDED EVEN DURING STATE OF EMERGENCY (VIRUS).
WHEREAS, we recognize that the Executive Branch is and must be kept in check by the other two branches of government.
WHEREAS, in 2020 the Federal Government and the State of North Carolina declared a state of emergency in response to the emerging threat of COVID-19 and consequently issued orders restricting movement and assembly in order to meet the then-unknown threat of the disease.

This is Communism.
Obedience to this ideology is participation in Communism.
This violates every principle of liberty and THE VERY DEFINITION OF INALIENABLE RIGHTS.
There is NO VIRUS AND NO INFECTION MORTALITY RATE that should give government the right to strip We the People of movement and assembly.
The NCGOP Resolutions Committee needs to read our founding documents.
It is also a lie that the threat was “UNKNOWN”. Data out of Lombardy, Italy showed in March of 2020 that “Covid-19” had an infection mortality rate of less than 1% and the vast majority of people affected were over the age of 80 and had more than 2 co-morbidities. The “unknown” narrative was part of the fraud perpetrated on the American people and the people of the world.
WHEREAS, the state of North Carolina continued to impose emergency procedures without consent of the Legislature long after the threat of COVID-19 was understood and abated.
The authors of the various medical freedom resolutions that swept the state believe that our rights are inalienable and that the GOVERNMENT EXISTS AND FUNCTIONS BY THE CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED. It is the unwavering declaration of We the People that NO executive power, judicial power, administrative power, or legislative power; no Tyrant, Despot, or self-appointed King (or Walmart greeter functioning as the enforcement arm of Government) has the authority to strip us of our inalienable rights GRANTED TO US BY GOD and affirmed in our founding documents even during “State of Emergency.”
WHEREAS, the state of North Carolina and the Federal Government as part of those emergency powers attempted to mandate vaccines. We recognize that vaccine requirements in the past have resulted in the virtual elimination of polio and smallpox. However, unlike those vaccines, the mandated vaccines for COVID-19 were untested and have proven to have long-term consequences; therefore, be it
“We recognize that vaccine requirements in the past have resulted in the virtual elimination of polio and smallpox.” Not a single resolution submitted by any county or district to my knowledge affirmed that vaccines eliminated polio or smallpox nor was affirmative vaccine language of any sort used in ANY resolution.
This addition is propaganda ADDED by the State Resolutions Committee. The State Resolutions Committee would do well to study the real history of vaccines and disease versus inserting contested information perpetuated by Big Pharma captured government and 3 letter agencies including the WHO, CDC, and NIH.

This is a lie. NO VACCINE IN THE HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN VACCINE PROGRAM HAS EVER UNDERGONE DOUBLE BLIND PLACEBO STUDIES WITH A CONTROL GROUP.
No vaccine has ever been tested for “mutagenic, tumorigenic, or carcinogenic effects”. It is TRUE that the mandated vaccines for “Covid-19” were untested and have proven to have long term consequences.
RESOLVED, that the North Carolina Republican Party calls on members or the legislature to thoroughly review and amend the emergency powers given to the governor or North Carolina, to require General Assembly review and approval after 30 days and to remove the power of any agency or director of any agency to declare a state of emergency, be it further
RESOLVED, that while the Republican Party recognizes the medical advancements and lives saved through the use of vaccines, we call on the members of the legislature to review and approve any vaccines that are required in North Carolina and to require the medical community to disclose and discuss all options available and provide patients with “Informed Consent.”
“While the Republican Party recognizes the medical advancements and lives saved through the use of vaccines…” Where is this in the Republican Party platform? Where is this statement affirming vaccination propaganda in even ONE of the resolutions submitted through the counties or the districts? “We call on the members of the legislature to review and approve any vaccines that are required…”
Again, this is NO WHERE in the language of any of the resolutions that were submitted. We the People are calling for an END to ALL required vaccines. We the People are DEMANDING the end to vaccine mandates and abortion derived vaccines.
*All pro-life language including prohibitions against abortion derived vaccines was GUTTED from all 3 resolutions as the Republican Party is unwilling to wrestle with the hypocrisy of a platform that affirms that “life begins at conception and unborn children have constitutional rights” yet CHAMPIONS and even protects MANDATES for vaccines that are made from aborted children.
North Carolina Republican Party Resolution on Individual Liberty (Resolution 3)
WHEREAS, our North Carolina Republican party platform promotes limited government and protects individual freedoms by stating, in part, "We believe that in a free society, power should rest in the hands of the people. We believe in a limited government that serves the people rather than burdens them.
WHEREAS, in March 2020, the federal government told us—the people of North Carolina—that the COVID-19 virus presented a grave danger to ourselves, our families, and our communities. The government then commanded us to wear masks, accept experimental injections, and socially distance.
WHEREAS, in the following months, North Carolina's government took several administrative and legislative actions that further eroded individual liberty, including a prohibition on in-person church attendance.
All meaningful language which pointed out specific overreach by the NC Governor in collaboration with the Republican majority NCGA was STRIPPED entirely so that ALL ACCOUNTABILITY on all sides is censored.
WHEREAS, the North Carolina Commissioner of Labor attempted to enact rules that would have had the force of law and established a system to force masking, distancing, tracking, tracing, testing, and potentially mandated injections, therefore, be it
This is complete misinformation. The NCDOL commissioner did NOT attempt to enact such rules. Commissioner Dobson entertained a petition that— if adopted—would have enacted such rules. After public comments and a public hearing, the Commissioner dismissed the petition. The truth is that another such petition could happen at any time. There is intentionally no language here to prevent it from happening again. Instead, there is an assertion of falsehood.
RESOLVED, the North Carolina Republican party calls on the NCGA to repeal specific statutes enacted in response to COVID-19:
I. Return NCGS 14-12-11 to its pre-May 2020 version with amendments.
II. Return NCGS 130A-145 to its pre-November 18, 2021, version to eliminate the "class or category of persons" language added by Session Laws 2021-180 and 2022-74.
III. Return NCGS 130A-20 to its pre-November 18, 2021, version to eliminate the "class or category of property uses" language added by Session Laws 2021-180 and 2022-74 and be it further
This is the only section of this resolution that represents the intent of the original resolutions submitted by the grassroots. However, because the Committee refused to acknowledge that it was the REPUBLICAN MAJORITY NCGA who passed all of the overreach laws in the first place and worked with Governor Cooper to mask us by suspending the anti-mask law, the significance of the resolve is intentionally lost as is any attempt to publicly hold the Republicans in the NCGA accountable to pass “NEVER AGAIN” legislation.
RESOLVED, that the North Carolina Republican party does, as a result of this, resolve as American citizens—whose rights are endowed by our Creator and affirmed by our founding documents—that no government entity, whether Executive, Legislative, Judicial, or Administrative shall limit our God-given rights without due process.
Where in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights does it assert that our God-given rights can be stripped with “due process” outside of criminal conviction? This language AFFIRMS that the government has the authority to strip us of inalienable rights. This is the very definition of tyranny rooted in propaganda.
The last three words “with due process” nullify the entire statement—a fatal flaw to the entire resolution.
This is a complete rewrite of what was submitted to the committee. The committee changed this ORIGINAL language submitted by grassroots Republicans…
Therefore, be it resolved, that North Carolina Republican Party does hereby resolve as sovereign citizens, whose rights are endowed by our Creator, and affirmed by our founding documents, that no government entity, whether executive, legislative, judicial, or administrative, nor any private entity, including but not limited to businesses, schools, and places of employment, shall ever have any authority to coerce or force upon any human being, born or unborn, any medical procedure or practice including but not limited to mask, testing, vaccines, medical experiments, pharmaceuticals, or any other medical product as a condition of citizenship, patronage, employment, education, worship, assembly, or movement.
