Sing Louder
We were waiting for the votes to be tallied at the North Carolina Republican Party Executive Committee Meeting in Selma where Jason Simmons was installed elected as Party Chair several weeks ago.
At first it was just a few people and then a few more until the entire right side of the room erupted…
“God Bless America…
Land that I love…
Stand beside her…
And guide her…”
And I could feel the lump begin to form in my throat.
I was once moved to tears for the beauty of this sentiment…
Until the day the music died.
And I could never again bring myself to sing…
I don’t remember exactly how old I was when I came to understand the death cult that is “abortion” or the scale of the bloodshed, the bloodlust, or the bloodguilt.
I just know that the horror lives with me—within me…
It was a “Republican” majority Supreme Court who gave us child sacrifice wrapped up in what became known as “Roe v. Wade”.
Our collective contribution in the five ensuing decades has been overwhelming silence, complicity, and indifference.
We have joined the ranks of the “Sing Louder” churches of Nazi Germany who drowned out the cries of their friends and neighbors as they were carried away to slaughter.
We have abandoned our high calling—we have failed to rescue those being led away to death.
“Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.” —Proverbs 24:11
I was only a few months old when Roe was handed down.
Abortion is the legacy of my generation.
Abortion is my legacy.
I have not lived in an America where there has ever been Shade for the Children.
I have not lived in an America that God could bless.
Children for Sale was hard to write.
I have heard from many of you that it was hard to read.
And yet, I did not even include the most gruesome documents or details.
For many, the images remain hidden inside this page of Life Dynamics.
I unlocked them some time ago.
They are now part of me.
They compel me to write.
And they compel me to act.
There is no Beautiful Ugly to be found here.
But this does not have to be the end of the story.
The final chapter is still being written.
And we are the writers…
We hold the power to change the script—to pen a new ending…
One filled with repentance and redemption and beauty…
An ending that will set the stage for a new chapter and a new book and the ushering in of a new age—The Age of Abolition.
How I long to write this chapter—this book.
“There is nothing noble the human mind has ever hoped for or dreamed of that will not be fulfilled.” —Oswald Chambers
I do not know that it is noble to abolish abortion.
It is compulsory.
The hour has come.
On May 25th, we will either collectively resolve to enjoin the 14 states that have already abolished abortion entirely, or we will stand as witnesses against the North Carolina Republican Party for our own failure to act—to honor our own Platform—and more importantly—“to obey the God to Whom we pray.”
It is a binary choice.
“Speak for those who have no voice; ensure justice for those being crushed.” -Proverbs 31:8
Please take the time to read (print/distribute) the Abortion Abolition Resolution Package.
Please take the time to consider Larry Pittman’s opening plea…
I am asking begging you (once again) to join us at the State Convention and to help us campaign to get the Resolution to Abolish Abortion heard from the floor of the Convention on Saturday, May 25.
We must get a 2/3 vote to have it heard.
I am asking begging you to pray, share this with your pastor, your Bible study group, your friends and your neighbors…
I am asking begging you to act…
“How many more millions of innocent children must die before we obey the God to Whom we pray? Let us please pass this resolution and call on our Legislature finally to do what is right in God’s sight by passing a law to put this disgusting destruction of human life to an end in our State. Perhaps He may yet restore our greatness.” —Larry Pittman
Perhaps, then…
We can sing again.
If not us, who?
If not now, when?
See you at Convention…
I’ll be the one wearing green.
